Weight Watchers Free - Our Results

So far I've harped on about what we did to lose weight using techniques of the Weight Watchers Program. But what I haven't shared with you are our results.

Expectations

Based on our calculations, we felt extremely confident on reaching our goal weight. We had a whole 5 months and just 5 or 6 kilos to lose each, coming out to just 250 grams (0.55lbs) a week.

The Weight loss Process

The weight loss was not as easy as we had anticipated, but it was quite normal. It occurred slowly and there were weeks where

  • we lost a few hundred grams
  • lost an entire kilogram
  • actually put on weight

In a nutshell, the fluctuations that come with weight loss were occurring.

Weight Watchers Support

With the fluctuations that came with this small amount of weight loss, the support and motivation from team members to reach our goal weight spurred us onwards. It would otherwise have been all too easy to believe that only weight fluctuations were occurring, not actual weight loss.

SUCCESS!!

Well almost. Slowly but surely, after a 5 month period, Chris and myself had satisfied our goal weight and BMI. Michelle hadn’t quite made it but she was very close and that weight loss in itself was a success and she was extremely happy and satisfied with her weight loss.

Most importantly, the vigorous process of changing our lifestyle and eating habits had taught us great lessons that have to this day ensured we maintain our weight and enjoy things that make us even healthier and happier people.

We definitely could not have lost this weight without utilizing the principles of Weight Watchers and its 4 pillar approach which we paid very careful attention to.

  • Food – we made extreme changes in our diets
  • Exercise – we enjoy being more active then ever and are confident engaging in even more physical activities'
  • Behaviour – we developed healthy habits and knowledge
  • And last but not least, Support. We doubt that without our team and going it alone we would have been able to successfully carry through the program. And the best thing about it is, we have reached our goal weight and we are still engaging in the activities that keep us at our healthy weight.

How to Start a Support Group

Not everyone is in the same situation that I was with 2 other friends with the same mindset and exact same circumstances. But there are many ways and opportunities around the everyday person that might allow them to establish a Weight Watchers style program.

Weight Watchers meetings at work

For many people, the work place takes up a large portion of our week. It is then an ideal place to have support and create a weight watchers style program/competition with like minded work colleges.

  • It’s particularly useful for sedentary offices, perhaps you could organise activities that promote weight loss
  • Fellow motivators are around you during the day to support you with your diet and lunch time activities
  • Does your building have a gym? Perhaps you could use it with work colleges

Your Partner

If you have a partner, support from that person is extremely important. It’s difficult to eat properly if your partner is making and eating bad food. If they would like to manage their weight, then the two of you could start your Weight Watchers styles program together!

Recruit another couple, double date.

Mothers Losing Weight

Are you a mother with babies or toddlers?

Then you can tap the support group that is a mothers club. Mothers face many similar problems and one of the big ones is weight.

  • The weight after a newborn,
  • Weight sustained from having children
  • Or just the regular weight issues of life in general

Incorporate your own weight watchers into your mothers club.

Look Around

The Weight Watchers program is a proven successful long established program that anyone can organise themselves. Here, I have given you just 2 examples of where you can find a support group, but just take a look around you to find others. It could be in the form of a recreational club, within your church group, at your university, there are people everywhere who would embrace the challenge of being healthier and happy.

Two friends and I (2 males, 1 female) decided that we understood the concepts behind Weight Watchers fairly well. So then we figured, why not start our own team and do our own version of the Weight Watchers program for FREE!? So how did we get started?
